Pre-Loaded Non-Verbal Binaural Test

Yet another bust. Going into this thing with no bullshit means we’ll run into a lot of experiments with little or no results. Still, some interesting insights. Read on.

I tried to recreate the results of Binaural Signal Test of a couple nights ago, but it didn’t work. If you remember, something I read before I went to sleep listening to a binaural signal became the script for one of my dreams. The attempt to do it again failed.

The time I went to sleep, the binaural signal was the same, but one factor changed. The piece of text I read in the first test wasn’t planned to be a script, I just recognized this as the case afterwards. This time I went in with the intent to have a specific bit of text be the script:

You’re flying over mountains. You see a person standing on a plateau. You land, and you kiss this person. Everything is fine.

None of this happened.

I will note that the piece of text was written in first person, and I didn’t actually have a dream about what the person said, but rather factors that lead to the end result. Does that matter? Perhaps.

The other interesting thing is that I didn’t wake up at any time between 11:30 and 5:30, effectively “sleeping through” the dream experiment. In the more effective ones, something woke me up about two hours into the experiment.

When I awoke at 5:30, I couldn’t remember any dreams I had, just the fact that I had them. I tried to go back to sleep and during this time I remembered bits and pieces of them, but nothing concrete. For example, I was back in Dorsey, Illinois and I was having some sort of argument with an older man about roads. There was something happening with people in a church, but it wasn’t a church service, rather people meeting in a church. Somewhere else, two men were helping me fix an electronic device.

My recall was nowhere near as vivid as it normally is. I do have a vague recollection that I wanted to take notes about what I did remember, because I thought it would help with recall, but I didn’t want to take time to type it into my iPhone.

I just remembered having a dream that I was in a European country, like France or Italy, but neither of them. All the buildings were ornate and beautiful, but some as tall as skyscrapers, even though they were hundreds and hundreds of years old. As I was walking through the streets with Betty, I saw my friend Chris Haddad. Betty didn’t recognize him, but I did. I called out to him, and he came over and talked for a bit. He explained that his work in the United States had given him the money to travel to this place, and it was now his new base of operations. He asked me how I happened to be there. I had no idea. I also remember trying to get to a specific building at a specific time, but I can’t recall if this was before or after I saw Chris.

So, I was going to say that I was going to leave a notebook at my bed so I could take notes. If I look at notes I wrote even twenty years ago, I remember the dreams I had, so it’s worth it. What happened above was really surprising. I had a pretty blank slate as far as the dreams I had last night, and then all of a sudden that one kind of exploded. Like an ink drop in water, one small point spreading out in all directions.

Not sure what I’ll be doing tonight. I hear tell that it’s possible some folks will be preparing a test audio track for me to work off of, but no idea at what level of reality that’s resting.

Thanks for reading! More results as I get them.
